From March 15 to 17, Rotterdam Ahoy is filling up for the Nederlandse Loterij ISU World Short Track Championships 2024. The Sunday session is already sold out, tickets are still available for Friday and Saturday. “We have not forgotten how beautiful it was in 2017, in a sold-out stadium,” said tournament director Cees Juffermans. “We were innovative, pairing show and artists with a top sporting event, and that became the new standard. The popularity of shorttrack has only increased from then on, not least thanks to the Dutch successes on the world stage and the great events we’ve had in the Netherlands since. I am therefore counting on a crazy weekend next March with only enthusiastic fans, outstanding riders and in terms of experience a new peak in short track. We will once again surprise the world and raise the bar yet again.”
On Friday, March 15, the World Championships will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with the qualifying races. In both the morning and afternoon, riders will be in action to win entry tickets for the finals on Saturday and Sunday. On the second day, medals will be distributed in the 1500 meters, the 500 meters and the mixed relay. Sunday the world titles 1000 meters and relay for men women are at stake.
